I’m back! I wasn’t able to post because last week I spent on vacation in London. Other than getting sick, I had a great time. One place I visited was the royal mews, which are the royal stables at Buckingham palace. It is still a working stables where horses are trained to ride and drive and where the carriages are kept. The stables date back to the 1760s and were gorgeous! However, the public only gets to see a small part of it, including only 4 horses. They use only 2 types of horses – Cleveland Bays and Windsor greys (not a recognized breed). They work 10 months out of the year and then get to go on holiday in the country for 2 months. But don’t think they have it rough, they live in large, well bedded stalls and get the best care. Below are some pictures.
